Questa edizione in lingua inglese è la versione internazionale del libro La strega mancina, pubblicato originariamente in italiano da Ikonos Editore.
For many centuries, the left hand was considered the “hand of the devil,” and left-handedness was seen as a sign of inferiority and deviance in Europe until the 20th century. Since the 1970s, the percentage of left-handed people around the world has increased, as they are no longer forced to “correct” themselves. Even today, however, the right hand is associated with positive attributes, while the left is linked to superstitions and taboos.
A different lateralization of the cerebral hemispheres distinguishes left-handers from right-handers, which can involve both advantages and disadvantages. This book gathers the most recent scientific knowledge on left-handedness — but not only that. Seasonal and lunar influences on human physiology may reveal a mysterious “magic formula.”
